And yet another update: Apparently, John never emailed his client about replacing the design he made with my artwork on it. Here's the email I received from his client, saying she's the one who designed the new layout out of respect for me. [link]
I am gravely disappointed with what happened since John never refunded his client nor even contacted her for that matter. I am very grateful, though, for having met someone who actually respects my art and even remade her own website to protect my rights for my artwork. Thank you very much.
Sadly, I don't have the power to make John refund his client and bring justice to his client from this mess. If any of you DO have the power, please help her.
Beware of John, who uses Ragnarok Online artworks without permission and gains profit from it by selling them to private RO servers for their websites. Here's the link to his forum, RO-Solutions: [link]
I was informed by my friend
I immediately contacted their admin to at least credit me for the work or else to put it down completely and got a reply from her saying:
"Hello yanilyn, i really didn't know it was your artwork, i asked John from ro solutions [link] to make me a banner that matches my site and i paid $40 dollars for it. In the end i will be the one wasting money."
So I'm warning you all RO artists that people like John may be stealing your works and getting profits from it, ripping off clients for stolen work!

I have started contacting my customers and a waring them of this issue. This issue should be dealt with by Mid-May.
It would've been more appropriate to speak to me personally, before posting this accusation several times on the net( that I am a thief that makes profit on others ). I was not aware that art works from deviantart were exclusively for only display, and I never said the work was mine - Its was simply edited that my work was to be placed over yours. Your design here [link] said it can be used if credits were given - I will do so in an edit, and once my website is up I'll be sure to give artists credits / links.
I would also like to thank you for bringing this issue up as i was not aware, this occurrence will surely prevent future problems with artists.
I also managed to discuss this issue with your friend 'heavyh3art' and she considered this issue resolved, I hope you will do the same.
Again, Sorry about this unfortunate event,
John.
P.S.
Please do not burn me, hehe.
Here are a few peoples opinion outside of the deviant community: [link]
Thank you,
John.
Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License." was written below artworks. You should know before making any profit works to read and ask the artists. It really isn't that hard. Im sure you didnt miss the comments or copyright on them.
Now that you responded you do realize you owe a portion of your profit to these artists. These artworks are under a creative commons copyright.

I was not once notified of this issue personally therefore i could not attend any questions you wanted to ask - Which you should have done in the first place instead of assume that I am a theft and post three blog entries on the internet. I do not necessarily owe a portion of profit to Yanilyn as its not stated in the license - We never agreed to partner up (Perhaps if she specifically drew images for my projects she would receive an income) however credits, and credits only as mentioned before is mandatory and will be added.
That LoveRO banner was made in November/December which was before Deviant updated their website with the Licenses displaying on every artwork viewed. That's why I was unaware that using artwork required permission from the artist. As mentioned before I've already started contacting my clients (The LoveRO administration has changed, thats why theres been a delay in the change).
Hopefully this cleared a few things up,
John.
I forgot to mention this:
Every single client of mine knows 100% that I did not create the artwork - But they are paying for the edit on top of it. In no way did i ever say the artwork used in my edits were created by me. All clients have knowledge of that before even contacting me.
for future reference, and if you are a real designer / programmer, you must make sure your images and resources are credit or used appropriately, some artworks do not allow derivative works and that is clearly what you did. Yanilyn posted on your thread AFAIK, we simply warned RO artists that someone did not know the proper terms of usage of certain artworks and/or failed to read them so they could be more careful against people like you making profit of other people's work when you have no right to do so.
Don't tell us it would have been better if we didn't post this. We did this out of concern for other artists just in case you never responded.
And the same goes to you, it would have been better if you read the artists TOS and check the FAQ of DA before saying "oh i didnt know" cause this has been here since DA was born. Since you choose to be ignorant ill make it easy for you;
"Q: Can I use the images I find on deviantART?
A: All original works on deviantART are the legal property of the submitting artist. If you want to use a work you need to ask for permission from the artist, who is free to set whatever terms and conditions they wish. Permission should be obtained regardless of how you plan to use the work but especially if you plan to use it commercially.
To contact a member of deviantART, you can use the contact information available on the deviant's personal page (e-mail, instant messenger,...) or (if you are a member of deviantART yourself) write the artist a note.
DeviantART possesses no ownership claim in any submission and cannot grant you any license or permission for use.
Stock submissions and certain submissions marked with a Creative Commons License already have certain terms and conditions attached and can be used without directly contacting the artist providing that you obey the rules set for each work (which may vary from work to work)."
